The hardest policy problems live at the seams.
I help turn complex data into clear decisions—joining research, policy, and practice to improve postsecondary access, completion, and economic mobility.
How I Help
Fast, high-quality analysis of student, workforce, and population data—descriptive trends, predictive modeling, and mixed-methods research designed to inform real decisions.
I translate complex findings into clear, actionable insights through research synthesis, landscape analyses, and policy-relevant storytelling.
I design theories of action, logic models, and learning agendas that connect evidence to implementation—grounded in context and built for use.
What this looks like in practice
Turning disconnected or disorganized data into clear stories about student experiences and outcomes
Literature and landscape scans to inform new initiatives and decision making
Designing metrics, frameworks, and learning agendas that guide continuous improvement
Stitching institution, system, state, and federal data together to shape holistic understanding and inform reports and policy action
Helping teams move from research findings to clear, supported, implementation and evaluation strategies
Supporting teams in making decisions under uncertainty
I’m a higher education researcher and strategist. My work sits at the intersection of research, practice, and joining evidence with organizational culture to expand access, belonging, and outcomes for students historically underserved by higher education and social systems.
I recently served as Associate Director of Research at the Institute for Higher Education Policy (IHEP), where I led a portfolio of research, field engagement, and applied initiatives focused on improving the postsecondary data landscape. I previously held research positions at the Community College Research Center (CCRC) at Teachers College and at California Competes, a higher education policy and research think tank in Oakland, CA.
I earned a Ph.D. in Education Policy from Teachers College, Columbia University, a Master of Public Policy from the Goldman School of Public Policy at the University of California, Berkeley, and a B.S. from the University of Florida. My dissertation, "An Ecological Analysis of Post-Traditional College Student Success," used quasi-experimental, descriptive quantitative, and qualitative methods to investigate how metric design, evaluation strategies, and public perceptions shape college success for adults returning to college, transfer students, and student parents.
